2024 is the 22nd anniversary of the Xiamen Marathon. Along the way, the Xiamen Marathon has always
strived and forged ahead with a solid pace, experienced ups and downs, and achieved heavy gains. In
the new year, the Xiamen Marathon will run all the way to Xiamen at a new pace, facing a new future! In
2024, the newly upgraded Xiamen Marathon will be upgraded to new heights from event organization
to competitive level. As the world's first "World Athletics Elite Platinum Label Event" in 2024, this Xiamen
Marathon brings together top domestic and foreign runners to compete on the same field.
After fierce competition, ASEFA BOKI KEBEBE from Ethiopia won the men's championship in 2 hours,

Along the way, the Xiamen Marathon has not only promoted its own development, but also actively
embraced the world and strived to practice the concept of sustainable development. From advocating
a "no-smoke marathon" to joining the "Clean Ocean Plan", from initiating the "C&D Green Run in Action"
to building a "Marathon Love Station", the Xiamen Marathon has always led the industry in conveying
the concept of sustainability, with diversity. The values of love promote the development of the event
and are committed to making the event a benchmark event for green marathons. According to the
United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals and World Athletics' "Sustainable Development
Event Management: Best Practice Guidelines", Xiamen Marathon has initially reached 13 of the SDGs
standards, accounting for 80%. The concept of sustainable development has been fully reflected in all
aspects, fields and stages. And it has become the systematic strategy of the Xiamen Marathon.
In today's race, the Xiamen Marathon used practical actions to implement the concept of sustainable
events, advocated garbage classification, reduced the consumption of plastic products, and used large
buckets of water, degradable paper cups, renewable plastic bags, etc. to conduct waste management for
the event. Recycling treatment to reduce the impact of events on the environment. This tournament
joins hands with C&D Group to launch a sustainable living map to provide Xiamen citizens with
sustainable travel guidance. It uses environmentally friendly materials and 100% recycled chemical fiber
to customize environmentally friendly competition clothing, which will reduce carbon emissions by
about 10 tons in total. The Xiamen Marathon has become the world's first marathon event where all
clothing is environmentally friendly.
Runners first is not a slogan for the Xiamen Marathon, but the sincerity and warmth reflected in every
aspect. Over the years, Xiamen Marathon has continuously optimized and innovated its runner services,
leaving unforgettable memories in the hearts of runners with its warm service and full sincerity. This
competition has added a registration channel for disabled runners in the registration process; for
visually impaired runners, they can choose their own runners; for wheelchair runners, barrier-free toilets
have been added to maximize the needs of disabled runners during the competition. This year's Xiamen
Marathon has carefully prepared a wealth of materials for runners, such as freeze-dried noodles,
chocolate, oat milk, etc., to ensure the runners' breakfast supplies. Arrange 4 temporary dedicated lines
and free public transportation connections such as subway and BRT to ensure the smooth participation
of contestants.
In terms of track supplies, in addition to water and drinks, necessary supplies such as energy gels,
bananas, and salt pills were also provided. The density of supplies on the return stage was increased, and
the total supply points were increased to 19. There are 450 mobile toilets, 20 sets of urinals, and 5
shower rooms along the track. For organizing a marathon, providing portable toilets is a common and
essential practice to accommodate the participants and spectators. Portable toilets help ensure proper
sanitation and convenience during the event. Here are some considerations for arranging portable
toilets for a marathon:
Estimate the Number Needed: Calculate the number of participants and spectators expected to attend
the marathon. The general guideline is to provide one portable toilet for every 100-200 participants.
Strategic Placement: Position the portable toilets strategically along the marathon route, especially near
the starting line, finish line, and any key gathering points. Consider placing them at regular intervals to
ensure accessibility.
Accessible Locations: Ensure that the portable toilets are easily accessible for participants with clear
signage. Place them in areas where participants can reach them without deviating too far from the route.
Separate Facilities: If possible, separate portable toilets for males and females to accommodate different
needs. Some portable toilet units are designed specifically for wheelchair accessibility.
Maintenance and Cleaning: Arrange for regular maintenance and cleaning of the portable toilets through
out the event to ensure a hygienic environment.
Handwashing Stations: Consider placing handwashing stations or hand sanitizers near the portable
toilets to promote hygiene among participants.
Emergency Services: Coordinate with local emergency services to ensure quick response in case of any
medical emergencies around the portable toilet areas.
Permit Requirements: Check with local authorities about any permits or regulations regarding the
placement of portable toilets during events.
Vendor Selection: Choose a reliable and reputable portable toilet rental company that can deliver clean
and well-maintained units on time.
Communication: Provide clear information to participants and spectators about the location of portable
toilets through event materials, signage, or announcements.
As the mobile toilet supplier for this event, Toppla has run with the Xiamen Marathon for several years.
This year, Toppla portable toilets assisted the 2024 Xiamen Marathon once again, continuing to provide
a convenient and clean toilet space to solve the problem of too many people and few toilets on site.

anti-oxidation properties. It is not afraid of outdoor wind and rain, has a long service life, and can be
recycled in major outdoor events. After continuous improvement, Toppla mobile toilet has been
